A month remains till the deadline to submit entries for the Young Drummers Competition at the 25th Golden Drum Festival

13.08.2018

The deadline for submitting applications for the Young Drummers Competition for the best and most creative poster is September 10th, 2018.

The Young Drummers Competition is aimed at young artists under 30 years of age. This year, artists have been tasked with creating a poster that will promote the Slovenian city Pirano based on the slogan “Pirano – the city of Tartini”. The purpose of the poster is to promote Pirano and present it as one of the most authentic Mediterranean cities with much more to offer than just tourist attractions; unforgettable experiences and cultural events, including those associated with Giuseppe Tartini – a renowned artist and a famous violin virtuoso and composer who came from Pirano.

A competition entry must be created in such a way so that its theme and slogan can be used in all communications channels (digital media, leaflets, advertisements, etc.), and made to target three different audiences: Slovenian visitors and locals, international tourists and international media. The author of the best poster will receive a EUR 3,000 cash prize from the City of Pirano as well as a single admission to the Golden Drum Festival 2019. The artists behind the entries that take second and third place will also receive one admission to the Golden Drum Festival 2019 each. These awards will be presented on stage at the Golden Drum Awards Ceremony on October 19th, 2018. All entered posters will be exhibited between the 17-19th October 2018 during the 25th edition of the Golden Drum Festival.

This year's works will be judged by a jury consisting of five internationally-recognized creative industry experts: Josefine Richards – President (Creative Director, INGO Stockholm, Sweden), Mitja Bokun (Illustrator and Creative Director, Slovenia), Zofia Bugajna-Kasdepke (Business Development Director, MSLGROUP CEE, Poland), Johannes Newrkla (Managing Partner and Co-Founder, Merlicek & Grossebner and CEO, Bluetango, Austria), Mag. Igor Novel (Director, Tourist Board Portorož, Slovenia).

This year's Golden Drum Festival will take place between 17-19th October 2018 in Portorož, Slovenia.
